You might just be getting used to the idea of reading through AI writing or seeing AI images across the web. But are you ready to start seeing more AI videos?
The latest AI models can transform simple text prompts into realistic, high-definition video clips.
Think of it like having a movie director, cinematographer, and special effects team all rolled into one, but without the need for a Hollywood budget.
Let’s start with why this is exciting then I’ll share some clips, alongside ideas on where this will be useful.
Why It’s Exciting & Who It Can Be Helpful For
AI video opens up high-quality video production to more people. You’ll no longer need expensive equipment or deep technical skills to create high-quality videos. This can be particularly helpful for:
Content Creators: Easily produce engaging content for platforms like YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram.
Businesses: Generate promotional videos, training materials, and more without the high costs associated with traditional video production.
Educators: Create educational videos and interactive content to enhance learning experiences.
Filmmakers: Experiment with new creative ideas and effects without a massive budget.
Music Makers: Imagine the creative music videos that artists big & small can use to express their creativity.
As with all things AI, there will be safety concerns going forward that will have to be handled and problematic use cases need to be ironed out.
But being able to generate any idea imaginable into a video is a reality - right now.
Imagine typing a description like "a cat waking up its sleeping owner demanding breakfast," and then watching as the AI magically brings it to life on your screen. It's like having a genie in a bottle, but instead of granting wishes, it creates videos.
Here are the 3 latest AI video generators that are making waves in the industry.
The 3 Latest AI Video Generators
1. OpenAI’s SORA
OpenAI got our imagines going. They gave us a glimpse of their upcoming AI video model named SORA. The teaser ignited imaginations across the tech world, but unfortunately, it’s not yet widely available. The limited release means most people are still eagerly waiting to get their hands on it.
2. Kling’s Realistic AI Videos
Out of nowhere, a Chinese company called Kling entered the AI community with their incredibly realistic AI videos. Take a look at some of the AI-generated videos from Kling from the video above.
The exciting part? Kling is available for public use, but there’s a catch—you need a Chinese phone number to access it. But just having it somewhat accessible has given Kling an edge, making it a popular choice among those who can get in.
3. Luma Labs’ Mind-Blowing Creations
Over the past few days, we’ve seen a newcomer Luma Labs enter the scene with their AI video capabilities. The video creations we’re seeing from Luma Labs are nothing short of mind-blowing. This X user was able to turn some of the most popular memes into videos here.
Even better, you can sign up and start experimenting with their tools right now. Many creators have been combining Midjourney with Luma to produce some hyperrealistic & imaginative AI-generated videos. Check out some examples here.
What’s next for AI Videos?
This is only the beginning of AI videos. But like everything AI this space is developing fast but it now gives us a glimpse of what incredible tools for creators, businesses, educators, and filmmakers can use.
Whether you’re looking to start using these tools today or just staying informed about the latest trends, the future of AI video is just getting started. As always I’ll be bringing you more of the lastest as it happens.
But here are some additional insights & opinions of what to look out for over the next weeks & months.
The Meta Insights
▲ Only the Start: We’re at the very beginning but already, the accuracy and realism is pretty mind-blowing. Comparing today’s video outputs to the first AI-generated images just shows how far we’ve come in a few short years. We might not have full movies made with AI just yet. But expect to see more clips across socials or even music videos (in fact here’s one already here.)
▲ Big Players Will Come: AI companies are racing to be the first to release their new models. First movers always get all the attention. But expect the big players to step in soon. When OpenAI finally releases SORA to the public and developers get access to the model, we’ll see a surge of AI video tools transforming the landscape. Niche video creation software will appear. Imagine the impact on the music and film industries and the amazing content individual creators will be able to produce on platforms like YouTube.
▲ Watch Out for Misinformation: AI doesn’t come without it’s issues. One area to look out for is misinformation. With AI now able to create not just images but also videos and clone voices, the potential for fake news increases. During global elections, we may see an uptick in misleading AI-generated content. Companies will need to address these concerns at some level, which might explain some of the delays in OpenAI fully releasing AI video technologies to the public.
